acrylic, canvas 50*60 cm «memory from the past». I started this painting with the idea of capturing a field of flowers at sunset — a vivid memory from my recent trip to the Alps in late spring. But paintings are rarely born in one day.
On the second day, a wave of melancholy hit me. I found myself thinking about a horse from my childhood.
I grew up in a small town of about 10,000 people. Back then, we had no cell phones, no internet — at least not in our world. Most families kept livestock — a cow, chickens, maybe a pig. But there was one horse in town. Just one. And he wasn’t there for riding — he was a working horse, plowing fields and helping people.
We, the kids, adored him. After his long day of labor, when he was led to the meadows to graze, we would run alongside him, filled with wonder. That horse was magic to us.
So now this sunset field holds more than just flowers. It holds a piece of that old, quiet world.
