National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has stated that the legal issues involving Chairman Wontumi, did not begin recently.
According to him, the matter dates back to President Mahama’s first term in office, when a government task force reportedly raided Wontumi’s mining site.
He explained that after the NPP assumed power, Chairman Wontumi sued the state, seeking compensation over claims that gold had been stolen and mining equipment destroyed during the operation.
