Visited a sight the other day to maintain 4 x parallel 40KVA UPS systems. In order to get into these UPS’s for repair or to replace batteries you have to disconnect and take one system out of the room, which provides enough side space to work on the others.

Quacking Transformer:
Back on site performing power monitoring surveys.
Why would a 1,500KVA transformer occasionally produce a “quacking” noise. Av. current was about 60–70A per phase, but, there were regular 700A inrush currents with high harmonic content demanded by the load.

30KVA UPS Replacement
After 14 years this old Multi-Dialog UPS was replaced with a new Multi Sentry system.
The batteries in adjacent cabinets which had recently been replaced were re-used with the new system
