An beer commercial that's also an outstanding psychological drama about a war veteran with PTSD, a musical, and a tear-jerker melodrama. Plus all characters are cute penguins. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Penguin's Memory: Shiawase Monogatari (1985)
@willowtree97 Yup, raz trafiło mi się prawdziwe combo na yt: obraz w jakości 240p, napisy ścięte po bokach (nie widziałem pierwszego i ostatniego słowa), i błędy w stylu mylenia he z she. Piękny to był seans, nie zapomnę go nigdy.
@Anne2ZeReturn@colditioner I unironically believe that her retirement from acting is one of the greatest tragedies to hit Chinese-language cinema in the XXI century. She is such a versatile actress!
Similarly, Francis Ng is brilliant in both serious dramas and absurd comedies. He steals every scene.
Pauline Wong never achieved the same popularity as Brigitte Lin or Cherie Chung, despite being just as talented. This is perfectly shown in Taiwan’s Split of the Spirit (1987): a largely forgotten horror with a mesmerizing aesthetic
@zhenhuanjie A very important movie for me. It was the first time I saw Leslie Cheung (and heard him sing!) & Joey Wong. Also this was the first HK comedy in my life. I'll never forget the heartbreak of googling Leslie right after watching and learning about his tragic death 💔
@cuntkwokwing Also in Intimates (1997) and Love's Lone Flower (2005), but yeah it is very rare despite many sapphic undertones in movies (also whole heroic bloodshed genre have many of this in relations between male characters, Cheap Killers was the most open about it)
