@davidrobbo66 Yeah I don’t think it’s great on any of the West’s part really. Canada’s commitment so far has been in rhetoric only, though still early days. They’ve ordered 5x the amount vaccines they need and have also asked for access to the COVAX scheme. They’re all as bad as each other!
Capitalism is why vaccine patents, stockpiling and thus medical apartheid exists. Western countries hoarding resources to combat treatable illness in order to turn a profit and preserve their imperialist influence has always and will continue to kill people in the global South
PM Boris Johnson says the successful creation of vaccines and subsequent rollout is thanks to "free enterprise" and "big companies deciding to take a risk... which is what capitalism is basically all about"

A Tory like Jenrick overseeing Liverpool is a license for more privatisation, less insourcing and a deeper corrosion of political trust & social cohesion in our city. The people who elected me will suffer more as a result, and my conscience won't allow me to silently accept that.
Remember when millions of people peacefully protested against the coming illegal war in Iraq and a month later Bush, Blair & co. invaded and occupied the place, killing 000,000’s of Iraqis? Violence is the only language they understand
On Bristol:
The left needs to stop looking on at political violence it views as "unstrategic" with disdain. If all we can offer is hollow parliamentary alliances and not long term political organisation, that is a failure of the left - not of those resisting.
is there anything Starmer's leadership isn't dragging Labour backwards on? a totally reactionary project. it's not as if there's some great appetite in the UK for foreign interventions, this is just what these appalling people believe
Tune in to hear APPG Co-chair @MartinJDocherty speaking passionately on the #PolicingBill...
“This archaic legislation will enshrine centuries of resentment, bigotry and racism… a reprehensible attack on the ancient and historic rights of nomadic people."

This is discrimination & a major human rights violation.
I just want to stress how important it is to make all three of these demands.
The COVID Act already effectively bans protest.
The CHIS bill allows the state to commit crimes - including banning protest or legalising rape/murder.
The PCSC bill effectively bans protest for good.
this is a fantastic example of Marx’s concept of alienation of labour, where the worker is made to produce a cog in a machine they will never see or afford and so they fully lack the ability to point at their product and say “I made that.”......Global capitalism needs to die.
The Soul of America is a short documentary providing a class analysis of the last days of Trump's Presidency, the "storming" of the US Capitol building, the Biden Presidency and the next phase of US imperialism's decline. https://t.co/6R0MOcsQm9
