Funding could become
available in Fiscal Year
2027 to begin a feasibility
study for a #New Fire
Station in the city of
Chelsea. “We deeply
appreciate the City
Council making a new
#FireStation a priority,”
said City Manager Fidel Maltez. “A new fire
station began with
making #Engine4
permanent for our City.
Over the next two years,
we will gradually increase
staffing in our Fire
Department to reach the
required number of
#firefighters to staff this
new engine sustainably.” https://t.co/fuL2Ss0TOS

Chelsea Fire Department
Announces Successful
90-Day Trial with an
additional engine company.
“These kinds of
emergencies are a stark
reminder of how critical it is
to have enough fire engines
and fire fighters available
and ready to respond.
In a densely populated city
like Chelsea, every second
counts," said Chelsea Fire
Chief John Quatieri.
“One year ago, 50 Chelsea
residents were displaced
after a devastating fire
rendered their homes at
185 Washington Ave.
unlivable. The ability to
respond quickly to fires
like this one can mean the
difference between saving
a home or a life, and losing
one.” #ChelseaMA

The city manager and the fire chief look to be on board with further exploration of building a #New fire station somewhere along the Chelsea waterfront. District 6 Councilor Giovanni Recupero introduced a motion asking City Manager Fidel Maltez to explore the feasibility of the city building a small fire station to handle growth and development in that portion of the city. 🚒
