@Cucchlorraine You all have no idea how much this would’ve meant to Lorraine, my grandmother. She loved telling people about her Twitter followers. The whole family has been together listening to her phone go off all day. Truly one of a kind woman. You all gave her the send off of a lifetime!
The day will come when future generations ask what u did during these historic times. At the very least, I hope we all will be able to tell them we spent time reflecting on how we can be better, teach better, & understand better. The world can be a better place. #blackouttuesday
Black Americans are killed by law enforcement at more than twice the rate of white Americans. We created a reading list of scholars, reporters, and intellectuals who help us think about American racism, police violence, and their 2020 manifestations: https://t.co/DSAcTeUXdl
Hey students at CFHS! I know that the Covid-19 virus has been tough. It's hard on everyone but we WILL get through this!! If you have any concerns please know that you have a strong support group. The Counselors, Admin, teachers and even myself are hear to help, just reach out.
Amidst the chaos, Eng. 3 left their phones in the classroom and got outside. They “wrote like Whitman” by creating essays and poems about nature and their own American experiences. Love this campus & these kids 💛☀️ #cfpantherlife
In preparation for the epic poem, Beowulf, Eng 4 is busy creating their own poems, articles, and short stories that reflect their views of what makes a modern day hero. One student wrote this last night & read this aloud this morning. Forever inspired by these kids. #kobe 🏀✨📖
Social Experiment: “Are you a witch?” We jumped into the important themes found in The Crucible today. How? Well, the kids found out for themselves how easy it is to point fingers when hysteria, paranoia, and witch hunts are in the air by playing a simple game. Gets heated. Fast.
Today via video chat, Eng 2 interviewed a PA business owner whose father has been diagnosed with ALS. We discussed the importance of family, love, & living a meaningful life. Then, they wrote thank you letters that will be sent out in the mail tomorrow. #TuesdayswithMorrie
Today our exit slip consists of a positive vs. negative list after reading “Tuesdays with Morrie” 📚 Students were surprised to conclude that the positive truly outweighs the negative just as Morrie Schwartz knew it would. I think I might make this a habit 👌
@oldjef9@cfhighschool I’ll never forget the podcast interview you had with some of our kids last year. Truly life changing for them 😊 and it’s almost that time again!!
