Y’all, Matt Shapiro—aka PoliMath—is maybe punking folks, obviously knowing who Cassavetes is but mocking what he sees as a Criterion cult? In his newsletter’s raison d’etre: “I’ve grown tired that twitter has become such a poor place for thoughtful conversation and complex topics….” He also apparently writes for The Onion.
