This was one of the better conversations I had at the Forever Canada rally.
A man challenged me on taxes, equalization, health care, corruption, and whether Alberta independence would actually solve anything.
And to be fair, he made some reasonable points.
He argued that people and provinces who benefit most from society should contribute more. I don’t completely disagree with that. In fact, I told him I voted to keep equalization in Alberta’s referendum because I used to believe we should share our wealth with the rest of Canada.
But here’s what changed my mind.
Alberta develops its resources, creates wealth, pays more into the system, and then watches Ottawa and other provinces block the very industries that create that wealth.
Quebec has natural gas. They refuse to develop it. Then they receive billions in equalization while Alberta gets told to keep paying, keep sacrificing, and keep accepting federal interference.
Equalization is not the main reason I support Alberta independence.
It is a symptom of a deeper problem.
The real question is this:
Why do we keep going along with a system that keeps producing the same corrupt results?
More federal control. More blocked projects. More resentment. More division. More scandals. More excuses.
Alberta Independence is about founding a nation, about forming a system of government that has strong checks and balances and a constitution that actually protects our rights.

Happy 4th of July.
I know I have many enemies on here both left and right.
I'm gonna put the war down for today and tell them as well happy 4th and I hope you and your families eat too much and drink too much and have too much fun.
At the Forever Canada rally in Red Deer, a woman from the crowd walked up and tried to tell me I wasn’t allowed to record.
Very politely, of course.
But this was a public political event. Thomas Lukaszuk announced it publicly. People showed up with flags, signs, speeches, and political messages. I was there peacefully, with a camera, asking questions and documenting the conversation.
That is how democracy works.
It’s interesting how quickly some people support “free speech” and “democracy” until someone they disagree with shows up and records what actually happens.
I wasn’t there to harass anyone.
I wasn’t there to cancel anyone.
I wasn’t there to cause trouble.
I was there to ask Forever Canada supporters why Alberta should stay in Canada, and to give them a chance to make their best argument.
If your position is strong, you should want the conversation recorded.
