I wondered if I read these reports correctly...because I could not believe that in 2026, this is the type of comment being made by a female member of Parliament! What a retrogressive statement and state of mind! You know, when measured against other countries across the world, Jamaica is one of the better performing countries in terms of women in leadership. But we are not without challenges, and gains can be lost if we are not careful. It is one thing when the efforts at disempowerment come from predictable male spaces - an entirely different thing when they come from women who should be fighting the same battles. @JulietHolness has been an exemplary role model and an inspiration to countless girls who aspire to be strong leaders - long may she continue to do so despite the best efforts of some - including those who have yet to achieve a fraction of what the Speaker has professionally, politically and otherwise! Just incredible. Clearly an apology is unlikely from this quarter, but I hope that even one person in the PNP Women's movement will at least sit down with Ms Burchell and give her some counsel.
WFH doesn’t mean work from anywhere without limits. Public WiFi at cafés or even places like Hope Gardens exposes company data to real security risks like interception and spoofed networks, and you lose privacy for sensitive calls or work. It’s not just about getting tasks done, it’s about protecting data, meeting compliance, and maintaining a controlled environment. Remote work needs structure, not just flexibility.
WFH does not mean you HAVE to work at HOME. If you feel like going to a cafe, a library, or Hope Gardens..
As long as you are able to connect data/wifi & doing the work - it’s remote working. If you wanna go in office - also fine.
So I don’t understand the arguments…

Many may indifferent to some of the above and that’s alright. I encourage more passionate persons to get involved and contribute to the building of our industry through their eyes.
As it is, I assure you that carnival in Jamaica Has & Will continue to Grow into a ‘more authentic’ Jamaican Carnival Experience and I see this truly happening through the Fusion of our Jamaican Music/Sounds into our unmatched experiences whether in Our Fetes & also throughout the streets of Kingston for carnival day 🇯🇲.
DANCEHALL & SOCA are brothers/sisters & should be viewed as Family. The two come from similar backgrounds and represent the heartbeat of the originating countries. No need to Choose one over the other, but for now we can embrace the two within one setting until we as a country through popular acceptance has determined what our ‘SOCAHALL’ (or whatever it will be called) will sound like for the future carnival season.
These are my personal thoughts

@kirkanthony_jm@BethanyYoung876@Gordonswaby@JamaicaConstab Go to court with the photo and the clerk of Court may request the judge to dismiss the matter based on your evidence. I thought I had to go several times for a similar matter however I was in and out in 45 minutes.
dear apple, the iPod needs to come back. not for nostalgia. for the parents who want their kids to love music and audiobooks without a browser, social media, and the whole internet attached to it
