in october of 2023 I’d gotten back from tour with a handful of songs I was writing on guitar. I stopped doing sessions with other producers and closed the doors a bit.. I messed with what I could do with just me and some chords. it was a new approach. seeds were forming. I felt like I was at the foot of the mountain again

i played some ideas for my friend luca who came over and saw a bigger project in them and connected with where i was at that point. encouraged me to write more. I always knew somewhere in the back of my head that i’d make an album with one producer and see how far out i could push the sound. i went out for a couple tours with the band the coming year while having loose ideas flowing and just felt a live sound calling, trying things out on the road and with voice memos. luca and I kept hanging and he came on board to produce the album. was with me the next year or so. he held the lantern up

i felt like moving and stumbled on this studio in iceland. drafted some ideas there and would come back to la and work them out some more. there was life to be lived. things happened. we’d find a new place to go to record and write. hydra greece was next - an island with no cars and studio with some incredible people where we could make noise in at any hour

by late 2024 I had about 20-30 songs that moved me. some in different places than others. we took two weeks to head to el paso texas to record at this studio called sonic ranch where we could live and be able to focus on getting the recordings. I brought along the boys who i’ve toured with in the past who at this point knew the records and saw the life in them. luca and ollie on the boards. gyyps there. everyone i love in one room

the process of all this is Ambroxyde (LP). 12 songs that kept their pulse through it all . the name comes from a scent but i’ll explain that later. it comes out tonight at midnight. if any of it resonates with you, share it. move it around. thank you all for being here
