Woman wanted in car crime spree of over 40 vehicles makes grand escape from police with the help of a hummer.

​A Waterbury (Connecticut) Police officer successfully located and cornered a white Hummer H2 in a tight, dead-end alley. Inside was 25-year-old Hannah Casperson.

She was actively wanted by authorities for her alleged role in a massive string of over 40 vehicle break-ins that had plagued a local condominium complex, leaving neighbors with a trail of smashed windows.

​As the officer approached on foot with his weapon drawn, he repeatedly commanded Casperson to stop and put the heavy SUV in park, warning her that the street was completely blocked.

Instead of surrendering, Casperson chose a violent escape path. She threw the Hummer into drive and repeatedly slammed into the officer's patrol unit, forcing enough space to break through the blockade and flee the scene.

​The escape triggered a high-speed, multi-city pursuit that tore out of Waterbury and into neighboring towns. Casperson's desperation only escalated as the chase went on:

​She slammed into a second police vehicle at Brass Mill Way.

​The pursuit finally came to a destructive halt in the town of Monroe when she lost control and crashed into a utility pole.

​By the time the dust settled, Casperson had rammed or struck a staggering seven police cars.

​The path of destruction left behind an immense physical and financial toll:

Waterbury Police Chief Fernando Spagnolo later revealed that the total mechanical and body damage dealt to the fleet of cruisers totaled approximately $135,000.

​According to investigators, Casperson was already known to the local judicial system. Police had previously arrested her alleged accomplice, Thomas Crawford, in connection with the thefts. Chief Spagnolo noted that both suspects were battling severe substance abuse issues, which detectives believe directly fueled the aggressive 40-car robbery spree and the harrowing pursuit that followed.

From viral “Screaming Banshee” arrests to deadly crash: Lauren Mullins’ years of drunken chaos ended with a fatal DUI in Cambridge

For years, Lauren Mullins built a long public record of getting drunk and violently clashing with police.

The Suffolk University Law School graduate was arrested multiple times for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assaulting officers.

Several bodycam videos went viral, earning her the nickname “Screaming Banshee.”

On March 21, 2025, that pattern of chaos ended in tragedy.

Around 1:21 a.m. in Cambridge, Mullins slammed her SUV into the back of a moped driven by 73-year-old Daniel O’Neil near MIT, sending him crashing into a parked police cruiser.

O’Neil died two days later from his injuries.

Officers reported she was heavily intoxicated and belligerent at the scene. In May 2026, Mullins accepted a plea deal, taking responsibility for motor vehicle homicide and operating under the influence.
