Wow! An amazing #PharmacyHour discussion!🎉
Lots of great discussion and insights into different experiences surrounding the IP course and finding a DPP💬.
Thank you to all those who joined in😊, you’ve helped create more awareness of the issues affecting our profession.🙌
@GPPharmaSid @ProPharmace @darshannegandhi @PharmRJ@rcgp@rpharms Totally agree @rpharms guidance is great! I don’t think we need it but it would level the playing field for those in General Practice who wish to pursue and this would be at the same level as GP Trainers! #dpp#pharmacyhour#wearenoless
Thanks to everyone who participated in our #DPP#pharmacyhour twitter chat!! 😁
What a great conversation! 💬 if you've missed this chat and still wish to comment we will be monitoring for further responses and sharing all the tweets! Remember to use #DPP
I could not have said it better… to level the playing field and to bring Pharmacists to the forefront to support our profession so we are using the clinical knowledge we have at our fingertips we need to work together #dpp#pharmacyhour#StrongerTogether @darshannegandhi

This may be the case currently but as of 09/2022 the new cohorts will qualify as prescribers with experience… not all pharmacists are at an advanced level of practice… they will still have certain areas they can competently practice &prescribe in clinics #dpp#pharmacyhour
It would be good to have some formalised training at some point to support this as we have for Foundation Pharmacists for Educational Supervisors… the roles are similar so there would be some overlap #dpp#pharmacyhour
@darshannegandhi @PharmRJ Sadly not yet! The question has been asked and there is work in progress with the #ACP model but not yet with IP.
I do agree that having #RCGP accreditation would definitely be a positive impact for pharmacy professionals! #weresuperherostoo#pharmacyheros!! #DPP#Pharmacyhour
I can imagine imagine it would benefit practices an awful lot to have a more integrated system to support more patients with more appointments… Trainee IP’s in GP land should have adequate skill to be able to run certain clinics from the get go #selfcare#dpp#pharmacyhour
There needs to be remuneration in the form of honorarium for DPP’s which should come through the same lines as for Foundation Pharmacists @NHS_HealthEdEng to aid the commitments would be a better option to support an individual and their career progression #dpp#pharmacyhour
What are your views on funding for #DPP's...
Q4 Some pharmacists have told us they have had to personally remunerate their DPP to cover expenses for supervision and paperwork, have you had to personally pay for DPP fees?
#pharmacyhour
I hate to say this… I have heard the same and I think it is sad that it has come to this… as a profession we should stand strong and support one another in being able to reach our goals and targets… #DPP#pharmacyhour

They will have to allow time for this however they will also benefit patients for more appointments and contact for clinical interaction.
This will overall be more beneficial for the surgery/PCN overall with hitting appointment quotas! #DPP#pharmacyhour
