2 died of Ebola: They said Obama should resign.
4 died in Benghazi: They had Hillary testify for 11 hours, held 33 hearings, and launched a 4-year probe.
881,776 Covid deaths, an armed insurrection & theft of classified documents: They cheered, and elected Trump as dictator.
So…
A convicted felon is going to cut crime?
A rapist is going to protect women?
A pathological liar is going to stand for truth?
An unrepentant racist is going to unite the races?
A man who filed 3 bankruptcies is going to help businesses?
A man who incites riots is going to keep the peace?
Make it make sense.
@MichaelRWear People didn’t need to be excited for Harris. They just needed to have the moral fortitude to not vote for a racist felon convicted of sexual assault who lies and champions dictators. You wouldn’t allow him to be your youth group leader. A vote for anyone else was the right vote.
A Christianity rooted in patriarchy will always define women first and foremost by their relationship to men.
A Christianity rooted in the gospel of Jesus will always see women first and foremost as fellow human beings created in God's image.
May we understand the difference.
If we want quality music somebody is gonna have to pay for it. Streaming services don’t pay properly, labels want a bigger cut than ever and just sit and wait for you to go viral, TikTok doesn’t pay properly, and touring is getting prohibitively expensive for most artists.
In the year 125AD, a Greek philosopher named Aristides attempted to explain Christianity to Roman Emperor Hadrian. Here’s how he described these early Christians…
“They love one another. They never fail to help widows. They save orphans from those who would hurt them. If they have something, they give freely to the one who has nothing. If they see an immigrant, they take him into their homes and rejoice over him as a brother.”
I know very few people who would describe us the same way today.
Most folks see Christians primarily as unwavering supporters of a convicted sexual abuser with 91 felony charges, gatekeepers who fight to keep anyone they don’t like out of their churches, and pursuers of political power which is then wielded in ways that harm our most vulnerable neighbors.
We have fallen so far. Lord, have mercy. Something has to change.
