I am deeply saddened to learn of Walter Koenig’s passing.
Although we did not know each other well away from the set, we shared the later seasons of the original Star Trek series and the six films that followed.
What I observed, and what so many fans have expressed over the years, was a man who genuinely loved the Star Trek community.
At conventions, Walter was rarely content to remain behind a signing table. He preferred to be among the people who had kept Star Trek alive for so many decades.
That kind of genuine connection is rare, and it will be remembered by everyone who came into contact with him.
My condolences to his family, his friends, and the countless fans whose lives he touched.

Have you ever looked up why Naoko made the henshin phrase “*Planet of origin*power make up”? It’s printed in the manga translations.

It’s because the girls go from being ordinary school girls to beautiful and more grown up senshi. That the magic is a type of make up to make them look more mature and beautiful the way every young girl dreams of being when they grow up.

So yes, the male gaze factor is baked in from the very first chapter.

I would have liked to have seen the four heavenly kings be Endymions former retainers brainwashed into forgetting their prior lives. It gives a bit more gravitas and jeopardy when Mamoru gets the mind mush laid on him.

But then we'd lose out on Kuznite X Zoicite since the retainers were formerly in love with the senshi themselves.

I also would have liked to have seen more of the Season One love interests for Rei and Ami stick around and have their relationships grow. Yuichiro stuck around the longest but got forgotten about halfway through Super.

@PhillipLitost It's the same reason male comic artists draw their male characters with greek god, super muscular builds. They want their characters looking absolutely peak in their masculinity. Naoko wants her women to look peak in their femininity.

I have Grave, but find pop star anis more useful as my tier 1 attacker. Nayuta I find trumps crown because not only does she buff but she heals and does damn good damage so I’d want to pull her just to get her up to at least three stars,
