Lowri Denman knew something was wrong when she discovered a meter-long tapeworm in her toilet... years after the trip took place.

It was just the first sign of neurocysticercosis, which left her with 38 parasites in her brain, extreme headaches, seizures, and psychosis.

Only a handful of cases like this crop up in the UK each year. It's cause? The larvae of the pork tapeworm.
