@yakuza3d2a The Ranking system also helps solve some issues that were inherent to 3D Sonic compared to thr 2D Classics, in that in 3D you can just run past everything and fly over the level.
Ranks encourage you to actually engage with level elements like Enemies and level gimmicks.

It had some cool and sweet moments and that's kind of it.

That statement doesnt even make sense.
There is no relationship between speed and space restoration. The game explains that White space areas get white because of energy restoration

@beefandmus94652 @not_coddx Yusuke is at least at first this underdog character who has to mature over time and stuff so it works. Sonic isn't really that.
So it's more delicate with Sonic. It's harder to accept her is as cool as he is if he is too much of an asshole.
