As we voted on tonight’s budget (to cut the NYPD’s budget by $1 billion), five separate New Yorkers were victims of gun violence, including an 11 year old child.

This is why I voted no. We need to protect our citizens, not take away the only thing preventing total chaos.

Twenty-five years ago today, 2,977 Americans said goodbye to their families for the very last time.

Twenty-five years ago today, 441 first responders ran toward danger for the very last time.

Since then, nearly 10,000 more have died from 9/11-related illnesses.

We will never forget those we lost, and we continue to pray for those who are still suffering.

We will #NeverForget. 🇺🇸

💔 I’m deeply saddened to share that, just days after we celebrated David’s milestone 100th birthday, he has passed away. David Einhorn survived the depths of hell, and built a life that anyone would be proud of. He was wise, kind, and tremendously impactful.

I hope that it brings his loved ones comfort to know that his last days were spent surrounded by love and celebration for the life he lived.

May his family be comforted among the mourners of Zion. 🫂

Today marks 81 years since the liberation of Gunskirchen, the concentration camp that my father was freed from in 1945. The warriors of the 71st Infantry Division of the @USArmy gave my father a second chance at life, and my family is forever indebted to all of our country’s heroic veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

I am deeply saddened to share the passing of Rabbi Alvin Kass, our Chief Chaplain, and one of the longest-serving members of the New York City Police Department.

Rabbi Kass joined the NYPD in 1966, at the age of 30, becoming the youngest chaplain in the Department’s history. Nearly six decades later, he remained its spiritual heart — a source of strength, guidance, and faith for generations of police officers and their families.

A U.S. Air Force veteran and Columbia graduate, Rabbi Kass devoted his life to service, to this city, and to the women and men of the NYPD. He comforted the grieving, counseled the troubled, and reminded all of us of the deeper purpose in what we do.

He was among the first to respond after 9/11, consoling the families of the 23 officers we lost that day. And for more than half a century, he stood beside our members through moments of tragedy and triumph alike.

At every Police Academy graduation, Rabbi Kass offered his familiar blessing — a prayer that New York be “a place where people of every race, religion, color, and creed can pursue their individual destinies untrammeled, unafraid, and in obedience to Thy will.”

Today, that prayer belongs to all of us. And as we carry his words forward, we know he will still be watching over the city and the Department he loved.

His loss is immeasurable. His example is everlasting.

May his memory be a blessing.

After two years in captivity, the hostages have finally been freed. The joy and relief are overwhelming - not only for the families but for the Jewish nation, and all righteous people. It reminds me of my father's liberation from a Nazi concentration camp by the heroes of the United States Army’s 71st Infantry Division. What we witnessed today is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of prayer. We will never forget the victims of 10/7, just as we have never forgotten the victims of the Holocaust. Thank you President @realDonaldTrump, and most of all, thank you G-d. 🙏 ✡️

We were also joined by NYS Assembly Member @KalmanYeger , Dov Cohen, Chief of Staff to Assembly Member @SEichenstein , Douglas Jablon, Executive Vice President of @MaimoHealth , Radio Host Zev Brenner, and Rachelle-Deutsch, Public Relations, @MakorCSN .
