Today, I received Ambassador Maria G. Harrison, the Secretary-General of the Mano River Union (MRU), at the State House in #Freetown to exchange ideas on strategies for bolstering cooperation and integration within the Union.

We discussed the imperative of promoting the principles of greater unity and solidarity and enhancing cooperation between Member States and peaceful coexistence among its peoples, which underpins the foundation of the MRU.

As a people bound by a common destiny, we must collectively intensify efforts towards enhancing cross-border cooperation, promoting trade and investment, and fostering cultural exchange among our Member States.

Also, I commended Ambassador Harrison for the strides made thus far in advancing the objectives of the MRU, including fostering peace, security, and socio-economic development in the sub-region through facilitating dialogue, collaboration, and coordination among the Member States and other stakeholders.
