I can bet on Sikh Canadians, who will be firsts to join the forces

Many others will seek medical reasons for not joining, or run away to their “homelands”, but I can guarantee that Sikh Canadians will stand there, and will not give an inch without fighting.

Canadian Politicians are weak, and still not have any guts to make strong statements against it. All the “national” leaders are so weak, that their tweets look pathetic.

A husband was burnt alive in a Capital City of Delhi in front of his family, and wife was raped

A father was burnt alive with a 🛞 around his neck

A son was 🔥 burnt alive when his mom was getting raped in front of him.

A brother was burnt 🥵 alive, when his mother and sister were getting raped, and he just saw his father got burnt alive.

There are over 30,000 stories like these, and it happened in India, across many states.

There was one common thread, all were #Sikhs and they were hunted. There was price on their heads, and their homes/businesses were burnt because they were Sikhs. This is the ONLY Crime they did.

It also included my extended family in New Delhi who owned major TV company #TexlaTV, their lives were saved but their dreams were shattered just because they were #Sikhs.

They are again hunted in Canada 🇨🇦, and in the history of #Sikhism, they are often hunted.

When we grew up in our families, we are made aware that if you want to wear a turban, there will come a time where you will be paying price with your head and lives.

Only brave kept and chose to wear them, and many pretend to look like a #Sikh (Like myself, who are not baptized). Sikhs know that the price will be paid because they will have to stand for justice irrespective of the person suffering in front of their eyes. They will have to stand against atrocities, and this will make them targets by the oppressor.

Not many people on earth 🌍 can understand what is the value of a Turban for a Sikh, they may call it a hat or a rag or towel, but its their pride. It’s like a soldier who swore to wear his uniform to protect his/her citizens, irrespective of how ugly it may look to others. These are the men and women of principles, they know that they will be called out with various names one day, but they have to stay calm because they chose to wear it.

As we remember victims of #Sikhgenocide, we also have to remember that they never got justice. All the anger you are seeing in social media has this and many other historical contexts, which you should know about.

They are hurt, they are suffering this mental trauma everyday, they don’t talk to anyone, and just go to Gurudwara for prayers and blessings to remain strong.

If you want to understand psychology of Sikhs, you will have to start from a policeman or a soldier you know, who may be doing a job to earn money but still ready to die protecting people who are not related to them.

That why you will see #Sikhs often joining armed forces and law enforcements.

Many people in Canada got angry when @JustinTrudeau made allegations against India in the Canadian Parliament.

There was an effort by MSM in India to character assassinate Canadian Prime Minister, and very few Canadian believed what he said at that time. Eventually, USA found the links and Indian Govt backed away from their attempts to further kill #Sikhs in foreign countries.

Sikhs are less than 2% of the population of India, Sacrificed MOST in the fight for Independence against British Empire, Suffered most including Genocides during and after 1947, and were always got hate in exchange when they fought for average Indians or farmers against injustices. After 1984, they started to take shelter in western countries, and financially /Socially/ contributing positively in the western society. They continued to look for safe home, as their Sikh Homeland got further divided and destroyed over decades due to bad policies against Punjab state.

Now, @rcmpgrcpolice came with a credible evidence where Indian High Commissioner in Canada himself is a Person Of Interest and accused of #Sikh killings, efforts to create negative propaganda against sikhs in media in western countries, and used Indian Criminal Gangs to do the dirty work. Its also alleged that many people were forced to spy by withholding VISA applications (many Sikh Canadians have properties, families and Sikh Shrines are in Punjab India).

This should be condemned in harshest possible way, and culprits should be brought to justice. Canadians should rise above their political ideology, and lend a helping hand to sikh communities. They have been subject to many racial attacks over last few years, and were killed.

Please give a hug if you see a Sikh, they are not terrorists as often was branded in the social media. They are often misunderstood hardworking community in the western world. They deserve a safe refuge and protection, like anyone else needed when running away from injustices.

In the world of modern medicine, the adage “to err is human” takes on a frightening reality when applied to genomics. As a cardiologist, I have seen firsthand how the advent of Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) has revolutionized our ability to understand the genetic underpinnings of cardiovascular disease.

However, with this immense power comes a significant responsibility: the need for absolute accuracy in the interpretation of WGS data.

Imagine this scenario: A middle-aged patient, let’s call him John, comes into my clinic with a family history of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), a condition known to cause sudden cardiac death. His WGS report, performed at a well-regarded lab, indicates a pathogenic variant in the MYH7 gene, a strong indicator of HCM. Based on this information, I recommend an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) to prevent sudden death. But what if that WGS report was wrong? What if, in reality, John does not carry this variant, and the recommendation for an ICD, an invasive and life-altering procedure, was made based on an erroneous result?

Alberta and Canada has been struggling with #CancerCare. The day when patient hear this word from their Doctor, their lives change. They start to think about their families and future plans they had for their loved ones. They struggle mentally and physically, waiting for possible good news from doctors/healthcare provider. Once they get over this hurdle (which is 2 month or longer “waitlist”), their next waitlist starts. Its to get Biopsy, confirming type of Cancer and see if they need any Genetic Tests for the Cancer. It helps with target therapy selections, but often this is not available in the public healthcare system. If its a slow growing cancer, ie prostate cancer, they could be waiting for 3-6 months for results to come back. Alberta doesn’t have capacity to do Cancer “DNA” and Pharmcogenomic tests in timely manner, and often have to send samples overseas that compromises privacy of Canadians.

There is another waitlist, getting approvals for treatments. And, they can’t get until this Genomic evaluations are done. Sometimes, in breast cancer they do focused test for BRCA1/2 genes BUT almost never do complete WGS analysis to see if there could be other genes linked with cancer, and pharmcogenomic evaluations are done in timely manner. This leads to over or underdosing chemotherapy drugs, which sometimes leads to development of Heart Failure and other chronic conditions. This is preventable BUT system doesn’t want to offer these services to patients.

Its the taxpayers, who should have access to best tests possible but somehow “some manager” decides that some lives are not worth saving and others may be, sitting far away from patients home. If patient survives these challenges, and cancer, there is no real system in place to follow them with Cell Free DNA tests to monitor for reoccurrence of cancers and PET/CT wait times can be upto 2 years.

Its due to increase in demand with increase in aging population, lack of additional funding to meet demand, Outdated New Lab Testing Approval processes and expenses linked to Oncology are making access to Cancer care difficult for many patients.

Many Canadians are struggling to get timely appointments with Oncologists, BUT even if they get to see the Doctor, they will struggle to access various imaging tests such as PET/CT and MRIs etc in time, And if they need radiation, they may have to go to Govt Funded visits outside the country.

Let’s assume, Govts somehow get their act together and provide above access on the same day (less likely, but let’s assume they can), Canadians will not be able to get Genomics, Multi-Omics, Pharmacogenomic or Functional Cancer Assessment on time. There is NO significant investments in this area by Federal or Provincial Govts, if anything, they are sending DNA samples of Canadians overseas at astronomical costs. This increases risk for data breached and a sample of Canadian’s DNA stays overseas raising ethical and legal questions.

One such case was Prostate Cancer Centre in Calgary. Their Metastatic Patients are struggling to access Advanced Genomic Testings, and after much of struggle, @BioAroInc stepped up and donated 100 tests for FREE (Donation upto $1 million). In the history of Canada, its the largest donation of its kind. It shows that you could have all the money, BUT when it comes to get the MultiOmics tests in Canada, you are helpless.

We are lucky that we have Biotech company like #BioAro in Canada, but its upto govts to step up and provide funding for Canadians/Albertans to get State of The Art testing, cheaper and in timely manner. BioAro’s World Class software #PanOmiQ can do #WGS analysis on the same day vs #APL or other labs taking 6-8 weeks for most cases to get that report.

I understand that I have bias towards BioAro, but what’s stopping Federal and Provincial Govts to set up same labs? If we could do it in Calgary, at a smaller budget, imagine what they could do with money power they have? #DiscoverGenomics

Today is Canada 🇨🇦 Day, and would like to share a great news that was inspired by our elite athletes of Team Canada 🍁

Hayden Mayeur is preparing for Olympics Speedskating competition, and we are honoured to have him as @BioAroInc’ s Brand Ambassador. He taught us the value of 0.05 secs. This can be the difference between a medal 🏅 vs none.

Its not that ASA is a problem, its prevalence of genetic mutations that makes people non responsive and not getting tested.

Patients are using it, believing doctors (including myself), and are not aware.

Anywhere 5-30% of patients are non responders to ASA. We, as Doctors know this, still are favouring ASA because there are no publicly funded Pharmacogenomic assessments available for Canadians.

They should rather suffer, get ulcers and bleed without knowing if the drug they are using is helping them or not?

I wouldn’t take ASA or any chronic use medicines without PGx assessments, and I would also suggest you to be the CEO of your own health. Know, if drugs are right for you and ONLY PGX evaluations can help.
