WATCH: Eiffel Tower Blazes "USA 250" as Paris Kicks Off America's Semiquincentennial

Tonight the Eiffel Tower is lighting up with a "USA 250" display beginning Friday, July 3rd at 11:00 PM local time, marking the 250th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence.

The illumination shows "USA 250" in red, white, and blue lettering across the tower's first-level facade.

The lighting is part of a wider summer program organized by the City of Paris celebrating the historic friendship between France and the United States

This holiday weekend, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation's founding, I'll be thinking not just about the history of the United States but about our future.

If our generation does its job, then by the time our kids are celebrating the 300th, they'll look back on the decades between these milestones with admiration for how America faced ferocious challenges and once more drew nearer to its highest ideals.

I have no idea what military law does with people like this or even civil law for that matter but as far as I'm concerned this officer deserves a medal for standing up and speaking truth to power instead of hiding in a bunker

nothing's changed we may as well be living in 30s Germany as far as the law is concerned

One of the sites of the Russian strike in Kyiv is an ordinary nine-story residential building. One Russian missile destroyed 64 apartments. The rubble is still being cleared at the site. All relevant agencies are working. Unfortunately, there are casualties. As of now, three people have been reported killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Seventeen people have been rescued. Russia has once again deliberately attacked ordinary civilians and residential buildings. In Kyiv, more than 130 such buildings have been damaged in total.

It is important that our partners not simply stand by and watch as human lives are being destroyed. Pressure must be put on Russia, and it must be forced to end this aggression. It is very important to continue supporting our air defense. New contributions to the PURL program, active cooperation to build up our anti-ballistic defense – all of this is necessary to protect our people. Russia must be left with no opportunity to continue this terror. I thank all partners who stand with our people and are ready to help.

I am upset that #DavidHearn was indicted today on false charges. I hope he gets funded by US, “We the People”. If this goes to court, the truth will come out. July 4, 2026 is the birthday of renewing the fight against tyranny.
