Everything IS bigger in Texas...
Introducing TYLOSAURUS REX–“TEX”. A monster animal, a monster paper, & a monster project that I am *so* excited to finally share with everyone after ~5 yrs. Huge thanks to my coauthors, Mike & Ron, & to Alderon Games for bringing our lad to life!!
Incredibly excited to be in #Maastricht for the 175th Anniversary of the Maastrichtian conference!! If you're curious about giant cephalopods 🦑, be sure to come to my talk in Centre Céramique tomorrow at 10:35 AM!
Cranchiidae has to be one of my favourite family of squids. Cranchiids are funky looking, many are transparent and they have a special chamber filled with ammonium to help them float.

@BobNichollsArt Very lovely to have the wonderful biota of the Danish Chalk depicted by you! Such a beautiful artwork, I always like seeing it every time I go to GeoCenter😊
Interested in Danish fossils? And/or helping build a fossil collecting community? Our new fossil website https://t.co/0SCF06lTju has just launched! 🥳🦖🎉
Upload your own (Danish) finds and help identify others!
Another new species, another exciting discovery tainted by the use of AI images...
Marambionectes is a new plesiosaur genus from Antarctica. Unfortunately, the describing authors resorted to using AI-generated images to promote their research. Not a good look.

Happy #MosasaurMonday! Featuring mosa-models from @PrincessAiraB and @raheem07183, a mug, the Oceans of Kansas book by Mike Everhart, and courtesy of @NHM_Denmark & Geomuseum Faxe... the majority of the Danish🇩🇰 mosasaur fossil record for me to study🥳
@tomsharperocks A very historic moment in the development of vertebrate palaeontology. And that Plesiosaurus drawing Mary Anning made is very nice; she definitely had a talent in illustrating the specimens she collected. And she only kept improving (her Squaloraja sketch is even more detailed)!
Exciting new paper:
@MadisonTripp_ et al. show endogenous organic matter preserved in #fossil plants from Mazon Creek, incl. diagnostic arborane and fernane compounds. 🌿
➡️Powerful new approach for resolving plant parataxonomy!

It is my pleasure to introduce JORMUNGANDR WALHALLAENSIS, a new mosasaur from North Dakota! I’ve worked on Jorgie with Clint & Nathan for the past ~1.5 yrs & I am BEYOND stoked to finally share it with everyone!
