"From the moment it was here, my staff, students and even parents every year, that is the one thing that comes up. It's like we have to do Challenge Day. We have to do it."
She says, Challenge Day is “the most powerful thing I think you can give to anybody, especially at a young age, just to let them know that they're not alone. Because loneliness is just terrifying, and you know, it helps build your confidence.
This exercise feels good. Putting your thoughts on paper and letting someone know how much they mean to you can build deeper connections. How do you express gratitude or love?
There are many ways to thank someone for all they do for us or to let them know we love them. As part of Challenge Day's program, we give participants a moment for reflection and invite them to write a note to that special someone.
Today was such a great experience @ChallengeDay. Bonding with these students was so special and truly unforgettable. I thank everyone for their courage and vulnerability. I hope we continue to build these types of connections and make our LB community even stronger. 🤟🏻💚

He notes that it’s OK to be upset one time, and then that back a moment later. And even when you think a student may not be into the program, or being touched by the connections they are making, they are.
