For those of you following Charleigh's Journey, the Ministry of Health in BC has extended her infusions to the end of March while her appeal to continue treatment is being reviewed. Please continue your support for Charleigh! It has made a difference!
Infusion #148
Theo slept the whole time! Maybe the cold snap has been exhausting? (I think so!) Maybe the travel days to and from Winnipeg were long? Too much time at the facility ⚽️? Whatever the case, he is well rested!
Infusion #147
The infusion started with bloodwork. This means we have to wait to give his AM meds. It was a bit of a rush to give those meds + the pre infusion meds. He didn’t appreciated the rush & was unhappy. It passed and he has spent much of the infusion nice and relaxed.
It’s infusion day. Everything is going well, I can’t really explain Theo’s morose expression.
He’s enjoying grade 4 and continues to be a hockey and soccer fan for his brother.
Happy Halloween!
While treatment day was smooth and the Peds ward really made an effort to celebrate, it wasn’t the same as going to school. Theo has come to love the royal treatment on Halloween. 🎃 👻
Infusion #134
Theo has been enjoying Grade 4 and spending the day with his classmates. Today he had a good rest and watched Frozen for what seems the millionth time!

Theo is doing well. He had his 131st Brineura infusion this past week and is looking forward to a few days at camp next week.
We haven’t read Beauty and the Beast in a while, but it remains his favourite!
Theo is finally well enough to enjoy summer at the lake with cousins. A few days ago he had his 131st infusion and it’s been almost 5 years since infusion #1.
Not pictured, a tube ride on the calm lake. Pictured, splashing around and a beautiful day.
We spent Sunday afternoon at the hospital. Theo still hasn’t fully recovered and his doctor wanted to check in on him. Good news! He is steadily improving. He did not need to be admitted and summer vacation can continue.
This illness has been one of Theo's toughest. Three steps forward, one step back. Today was a forward day, with less struggle and more smiles. Rest well my sweet boy!
After a long infusion day, Theo was finally able to be discharged from the hospital. He hasn’t completely overcome his illness, but he is well enough to work his way through surrounded by his family who love him so much!
Things are going south, in a good way! Theo no longer requires the level of care and interventions of the PICU and we will be transferred to hospital in Regina. Theo is getting stronger and this is progress!
