Over 200 schools across Merseyside and the surrounding areas are going to be removed from local authority control in a major academisation drive by the Archdiocese of Liverpool.

📆 WEDNESDAY 08 APRIL A powerful duo of abridged screenings of London Recruits and Unsung Hero - the Jack Jones story, combined into one night of legendary political history and discussion. London Recruits mixes archive footage and first hand testimony into a dramatic telling of a small group of anti-apartheid activists in 1970s Britain. Unsung Hero - the Jack Jones story, made by Liverpool based Hurricane Films, documents trade unionist Jack Jones, from his early experience in the Spanish civil war to a life dedicated to trade unionism and activism even in his retirement. Followed by Molly Dhlamini, South African activist in discussion with directors of London recruits, and Unsung Hero - Gordon Maine and Sol Pappadopolous.
