@sydccarlson Most people (including medical professionals) have little to no clue about managing diabetes, much less the dire complications of a hypo or DKA. It’s fucking sad and awful.

Not me having flashbacks of my time in DKA literally almost dead repeatedly telling them I couldn't have a sugar IV and the nurse quoting me in a snotty tone to the other nurse, "IDK WHY" "Idk cause my bg is too high to calculate." 🙄🙄🙄#neveragainpls

diabetics even have to worry about the hospital (who is supposed to be a safe place where we are taken care of) not understanding that we need insulin *very* frequently or how to handle other aspects. people should know this disease isn't easy
