But what does the 2025 World Press Freedom Index say?

The WPFE shows that the top 15 countries in the world for press freedom are all in Europe, with 12 of them being EU member states. The other 3 are closely linked to the EU through EEA and EFTA. 🌍

So, is the EU really undermining free speech, or are they just holding tech giants accountable for transparency? 🤔

The EU fine has nothing to do with “censoring Americans” or going after U.S. citizens. The penalty was issued because X broke basic transparency and consumer-protection rules: selling misleading blue checkmarks, hiding required advertising data, and blocking researcher access.

This is about a platform refusing to follow the same laws that Google, Meta, TikTok, Amazon, and every other major service must comply with in Europe.

Turning a regulatory violation into an attack on “American people” is pure political shitshow, not reality.
