Week 7
Forgot to post this one last week. Not too happy with this one. The proportions are a bit off, especially with the head and her right leg. I think I did pretty good around the pelvic and waist area though.
I’ll be posting one drawing a week as I finish them until the end of the year. Maybe skipping a few for the holidays. And once I have some money set aside to fix my iPad screen I’ll choose a few to redraw digitally.
My iPad screen is all cracked so I’ve gone back to the old pencil and paper. I’m challenging myself to finish a quick drawing a week. Here’s the first month. I’m having a much easier time drawing in paper and drawing is actually fun again.
@KuroshiroX > start drawing for fun
> get pissed off over ur speed and/or artstyle
> start studying fundamentals
> get burnout and bored
> rinse and repeat the cycle of doom
Sketching around trying to do something other than just a standing pose but I am just not at the level to do it right yet. The process just ain’t there.
Holy shit chat are we so back? Haven’t picked up the pen in I don’t know how many months. I wasn’t keeping count. Sketching a coworkers character as a warmup now.
How’s it going, people? Been away for a while on my “training arc” but it’s been VERY slow going and to be honest not very successful. Going to try picking up the pace and drawing more and actually posting more soon. Wish me luck
So I got brought Marc Brunet’s 10 term art school. I came to the realization that I can’t teach myself because I can’t discipline myself. So I’m hoping with some actual structured teaching I’ll be able to improve. Supposedly it’s a two year thing. Wish me luck!
Also, I’m gonna delve more into fan art. I’ve been focusing too much on OCs. Although I really want to draw them, I’ll put them on the back burner until my skills improve and I can do them justice.
I’ll be leaving this piece as is. I’ve been away from it for far too long and don’t feel the spark to finish it anymore. I think I made good progress though. Now I’m going to try my hand at some actual studying. Like figure drawing and shit. I’ve always struggled with that.
@Aeyga_X I think it’s very mean spirited for experienced artists to say “why even bother then?” to less experienced artists who are still climbing and learning when they vent their frustrations. It feels like they’ve forgotten the struggle they went through to get to where they are.
@Aeyga_X I often struggle and get frustrated with my drawings but at the end of the day I’m proud that I drew something and that I made some progress, even if just a little.
