This is true if you heavily weight the measure in terms of TVs, cell phones, and processed food (official statistics), but if you measure in housing, energy, education, and medical care it's a completely different story.

Younger generations are constantly told not to spend money on superfluous things like cell phones and Starbucks. So why would anyone care if those things are cheaper than ever when the things that really matter aren't?
