Just saw the Odyssey, and I am furious.
Everyone online promised me a woke slop fest about DEI Helen of Troy teaming up with transgender Achilles to piss on the grave of WESTERN CIVILISATION.
Instead I watched a masterpiece of cinema with touching performances, good pacing, and epic visuals.
WTF!?
Not a single Trump allusion; no ham-fisted climate change allegories; not even so much as a “yass Queen” from Telemachus.

I think Nolan is making a far more radical argument than Homer ever did.
Homer celebrates the Trojan Horse as Odysseus’ greatest act of metis, cunning intelligence.
Nolan appears to reinterpret it as the original sin of Western warfare: the moment humanity weaponized trust itself.
Dunkirk asks how we survive war.
Oppenheimer asks what we’ll invent to win it.
The Odyssey asks whether crossing that moral line means we never truly come home
