That question “apart from music, what business do you do? Like, a proper business?” honestly comes off as a bit insulting. Music is actually one of the biggest industries in the world, and in many cases, it’s just as serious (if not more) than what people like to call “proper businesses”
At the end of the day, investing in a music career is a real business decision. Like any other venture, it has its risks, but it can also be highly rewarding if approached the right way.
emerging artistes usually ignore the numerous people showing up for them and focus on the hate while also being bothered about those that don't, when i newly joined this space i use to be sad when certain people don't mention my name or say things about me and my crafteven when i clearly deserve it, until i realised it's how the bussiness works, you don't expect people to leave their paying clients or potential paying clients and just focus on you because you think you deserve it when you're not in anyway affiliated with them or paying their services, you even the few that does speak about you out of their own good will you still remind yourself that you're not in anyway entitled to it.
It is what it is, focus on the people that love what you're doing.
we need to do a lot, there’s a call to action that must be attended to with immediate effect in the exportation and strategic positioning of the afrobeats culture and value.
