Rise and Capoeira! 🇧🇷
Enslaved Africans(Angola) brought capoeira to Brazil in the 16th century. The slaves disguised their fighting techniques as folk dancing, using rhythms, call-and-response singing, and instruments to distract onlookers.
Historically, sometimes fighters with blades strapped to their ankles or held between their toes—would swing their legs high in attack, perform aerial somersaults, and pass within a hairsbreadth of each other's knees, head, groin, or stomach.
This is culture! 🇧🇷
