Anyone who lives in Hastings can have their say on the new housing allocations policy.
The policy sets out how the council decides whether someone can apply for social housing and how high they should be placed on the housing register, depending on their individual needs.
Housing Associations have a crucial role in preventing and ending homelessness. I’m really proud to have joined the board of Homes for Cathy. It would be great to see Housing sector colleagues at our conference in London later this month. https://t.co/Z4BBnm77Ne
Spent the morning keeping quiet and not using any bandwidth while @EllaRHancock chaired her way through this, engaging hundreds with a compelling case for a housing led end to homelessness in Central & Eastern Europe. Super proud.
🪧The launch of our feasibility study..

Last day @crisis_uk after 9 wonderful years, leaving do activities were expertly judged @katefaz. @CescaAlbanese Will miss the place terribly but have absolutely no doubt that ending homelessness in the best hands.
Have been looking out for this 🤓…really would’ve liked to see more on expectations for tackling homelessness but proposals are frustratingly weak on this. Our work w/ @HomesforCathy provides a good starting point for some reasonable asks that have potential for notable impact

" it is the funding structure that should be the focus of any scepticism, rather than the Housing First model itself. " Absolutely, spot on, as always, from @AlexLSmith1983 . Such an odd and circular argument to have to refute....
Another important study into the key drivers/solutions to homelessness (US based but plenty of recognisable similarities w/Britain). No surprise that all routes both into & out of homelessness involve housing. Shame too many decision makers in UK govt don’t get this
