I’m watching CNN coverage of Trump’s indictment. Pundits are spending not much time discussing the former president has already been found liable in a civil court for sexually assaulting a woman, impeached twice, paid a $25 million settlement for his bogus university and had his company fined $1.6 million for tax fraud. He made history long before this.

The debt ceiling doesn’t reduce spending or increase revenue. In fact, Congress has raised or changed the debt ceiling *78 times* since 1960—with no meaningful change to our budget decisions.

It serves no purpose other than driving brinkmanship. Congress should abolish it.
