Artist | Building a collector grade NFT banner collection | Angels, Numbers, Ancient Machines, and the Ethereal Circuit | Process in Public | Art First
Few artists make art for the profile banner. Ever catch yourself looking at it first when you visit someone's page?
It's because the banner has the capacity to say something more. It's the reason I chose it as the canvas for my collection.
Four years ago I started designing this collection with a developer I was lucky to find- he wanted to create something new in this space as badly as I did. We hashed out concepts, refined them, got to work. By 2023 the moment seemed to pass; everyone was convinced NFTs had peaked, and the majority moved on.
I stopped. Put the project down. Picked it back up. Made revisions, kept researching. Over time I just kept coming back to it. I couldn't let it go. Maybe it wasn't meant for back then, but for right now.
It's built on a communication system reaching for something higher- angels and aliens, numbers, ancient machines. On the rarest pieces, an ethereal circuit completes itself, and the art connects to its owner.
I'm making it in the open. No countdowns, no hype. Art first.
In July I shared a loop that almost every four digit number falls into. It ends in 6174.
The longest it ever takes is seven steps.
Kaprekar's birth year takes all seven.
There is something strange that can happen with four digit numbers.
Pick a set that doesn't have all the same digit, then put them in order from biggest to smallest. Now make them smallest to biggest. Subtract the small number from the larger number. Take your answer and do the same thing over and over again.
Eventually you will get 6174 and you are now trapped in a loop. This outcome exists within almost every four digit number. Seven steps at the most.
This loop is called Kaprekar's constant.
Here it is with 1234.
4321 - 1234 = 3087
8730 - 0378 = 8352
8532 - 2358 = 6174
Try it out on a number that is relevant to you. Did you make it out?
Anxiousness, the load you carry on your shoulder. Apprehension, the one you carry in your heart.
Feet on uneven ground. Hands clasped, unwilling to reach for help. No path, no signs, no brace to lean on.
The key is balance. Partnership is how it is reached. The pull to choose money and career, or love and family, is what tips it. Do not drop one for the other. Each is the other's counterweight. Through this, you steady. The ground goes back to being what it always was. Infinite possibility.
Lots of concern out there about history repeating itself.
The most valuable thing that will make you money is the thing you won't want to sell.
It's valuable, as long as those who don't have it desire it.
There is a reason why they desire it, and that's the artist's job, not the collector's.
The artist and developer have to bake that reason in from the very beginning.
@stevezee_ So those are moments in time that are framed on your wall. The mint is more powerful than the buy. It was creation. Verse comes close, what isn't it quite capturing?
There has been time for artists and developers to consider this problem and try something new. Especially with collections. "Collectors" need a reason to keep an NFT, some sort of reason they've never seen before. With all things available to us, the ability to create this reason is as close as it has ever been.
@Trisha__Sen Thank you, Trisha I appreciate it. My gut says I've sat on the sidelines enough this month and it's time to start spreading some more truth. Your comment is just the synchronicity I needed.

My blindfolded angel sending out her call. These are proofs, put together by hand. The collection itself is generated from traits I'm working on. Check out the full size.
@sato_yushi_ I've heard of water holding memory. If he is now a cloud, I'd wager he doesn't let one drop of you fall as rain. He keeps those for himself. I'm sure he is one happy cloud.
