Sad day in rock, Jack was one of the regulars at the legendary Woodstock in Anaheim where all us young rockers would go and revel in the festives of the LA metal movement, he will be missed

GREAT WHITE issues statement on the passing of original singer, Jack Russell:

“Our deepest condolences to the family of Jack Russell. We hope they take comfort in knowing Jack's incredible voice will live on forever. His love for the fans and his sons went unmatched, as was his own love for rock music. What do you say about someone that was there by your side on such an amazing journey, the good and the bad?

We prefer to let the music fill in the blanks. All those wonderful years together will be held close to our hearts. It was a privilege and joy to share the stage with him - many shows, many miles, and maximum rock. In the studio, Jack was amazing.

He always came ready to work. And work hard, he did. Jack stayed until he got the best performance for each song.

He brought the same excellence to every show. The consistency of his live performances were always beyond comparison. Rest In Peace, to one of rock's biggest champions.”

#love

https://t.co/2sTC5mzxyr The passing of Willie Mays on Tuesday has caused repercussions across the sports world, many who feel MLB lost its greatest player ever. The Treiners recorded a bigband ditty back in the 50s about the great icon

America got introduced to Jimi Hendrix on this day in 1967. Though his 'Are You Experienced' Lp had already been released the previous month, this was the first time he got in-their-faces et experienced The Experience of his 'electric church'

@SophiesDriver @20th_Centurygal Aerosmith isnt really considered 80s hair metal. In fact they were among a long list of 70s hardrock acts that took backseats to the explosion of heavier rock and metal of late 70s , 80s

@MrDLBragen @20th_Centurygal The Pretty Things are really from the mid -60s, maybe the first to show up with massive hair

20 years ago today 6/10/2004, Ray Charles left the planet, but made an incredible mark on the music landscape despite his handicap. He was notable for dominating crossover genres (blues, soul, gospel, jazz, pop) , so much so he was a charter member of the RocknRoll Hall of Fame
