For the record, I absolutely can’t leave everything for eight weeks (or put my mental health at risk) so this is a non-starter. But I’m touched this was their first reaction. (UK followers: you have a week left! Go for it!)
My parents just heard about #SurvivorUK on TV, and messaged me in great excitement to let me know that applications are still open. I have asked if this means they’re up for eight weeks of raising my teenagers for me.
@JoshieFLX Much as I love Cirie, still prefer the UK version, but I really like that both exist. It’s a rare treat to see two casts experience the game fresh.
@randyknup It seems that both UK and US casts were told that there would be 2-5 traitors, but both shows were edited to make it look like they knew there were three.
@RedmondSurvivor@realityblurred For a few challenges, I found it interesting seeing the tweaks they made in the rules… In a couple of others, the two casts had very different approaches.
@kirstensaidwhat We… don’t have graham crackers in the UK. Most of the stuff I’ve heard from this book has been believable, but I cry foul on this one.
Pondering the BBC’s involvement with #TraitorsUS? Obviously both productions split cost, and BBC got the rights to show the US series. So which streaming service made the terrible call to drop the entire season at once?
Have now finished #TraitorsUS. Won’t spoil, but willing to DM about it! Going in, was dubious about the reality stars ruining the freshness of the game, but was pleasantly surprised. Fun cast from both halves!
For those of you not familiar with #TraitorsUK, Meryl had never been able to go on a thrill ride before because she was too short for any of them. She was up for staying on the wheel all day long.
@AMikeBloomType As you get to the endgame, there’s a bit of a divide between strategic and non-strategic gameplay. The edit doesn’t really sell the social game well, but I suspect that, to reach the finals, strategy was the key factor for the traitors and social game for the faithfuls.
@RedmondSurvivor I think it could go either way… they might see it as: The Traitors But Better. Or: I’d Rather Be Watching Season 2 Of The Traitors. In general though, I think it works in Survivor’s favour, and I hope they encourage the cast to watch it before playing.
@RedmondSurvivor The rules of the game mean the narrative is skewed to the traitors’ perspective, but it was always interesting watching who the faithful gravitated towards and against, because that was based more on social than strategic merit.
@RedmondSurvivor It really highlighted the social game of the remaining players. Kieran didn’t lose because Wilf turned on him. He lost because the faithful were willing to believe he was a traitor. Aaron got brought into the implicit alliance because they wanted to believe he was faithful.
