Weve been back in hospital for the day. This poster was in the feeding room. So just incase you werent aware, I thought Id let you in on a secret… whether its tit milk or formula its still LOVE! Its still FOOD. And knowing that is PROTECTION for your mental health & happiness 🫶🏽
@sue_haddon It took till baby number 3 to stop worrying about this kind of thing! With this one being prem and so many more appointments and eyes on I’m glad I’ve finally got to a stage where I’ve stopped worrying about the judgement and stigmas that hurt me for so much of my mum life.
If you’d like to hear me waffle on about my research into #MaternalMentalHealth, my life balancing research and motherhood and the difficult parts of sharing my own (sometimes dark) maternal narratives. Check out this Pod. Thanks Eva and Sarah for the great opportunity #momademia
For the past 2 years a Parents Wellbeing Cafe has been a lifeline in my most darkest moments! I have made true friends and together this year we made decorations for the Christmas Tree Festival. This may look like chaos, but quite frankly so are most of our lives #senparenting 🎄
After some recent critique of and contestation about autoethnography as a valid methodological approach, we are keen to put autoethnography firmly back into the researcher’s methodological toolkit. The book will cover history and traditions, ethics, research design and much more
@bchclnrbch @Adhdandmebexley @ASMU_Sendplight So so frustrating and hard for both of you! I hope the meeting is a success and you both finally get the support you need.
@Adhdandmebexley @bchclnrbch @ASMU_Sendplight And yet if they paid for the support when we first make it clear our children need that help it would cost them a lot less than them waiting until our children are behind, traumatised and broken, and parents are mentally worn down from being repeatedly dismissed and blamed 💔
@bchclnrbch @ASMU_Sendplight IME unless your child or you cause the school hassle they are reluctant to do ‘unnecessary’ paperwork. One of ours also wasn’t academically struggling but without the support he has fallen behind the rest of his peers. We’ve had a lot of battles to get to this point! Good luck 🍀
Tell parents and families they are not alone. This is far more common than most people know, because families feel blamed & ashamed. Let's shout it from the rooftops. Lots of kids aren't fine at school & it's not their fault. Change needs to start in the system, not them. 7/
@ASMU_Sendplight When I was trying to work out what was going wrong at school for my boy but faced with “I don’t knows” I asked him about his MAGIC school. What school would look like if it could be the way he wanted it and out came scratchy carpets, ticking clocks and unwanted social attention🪄
