I visited the 1 ship that got into port around 11:30. It had crew from #Philippines, #Romania, #Poland, & #Ukraine. I am well ahead on the quarterly report. I am also looking over things for a presentation at a Men's brunch at Highland Park Baptist Church this Saturday.
I said that sometimes He'll let us have our plans for a while to see that we don't really want them after all. I said that He has a way of guiding us if we seek Him. He thanked me for the conversation & headed off to do some work elsewhere on the deck.
There was 1 ship with an all-American crew. I met 1 of the AB's named Chris at the gangway. He is from NYC. He seemed interested in the Bible study materials & asked what the Open Windows was. I explained that. I then asked what his position was & how long he has been at sea.
I said that there's an old saying that "God can hit a straight lick with a crooked stick." We're all messed up in some way or other, but God can use even that brokenness to bring us to where we should be. He said "if you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans."
There were no ships in port today, so I ran some errands & worked on getting a jump on the quarterly report/e-newsletter. I hope to have everything up to date & written up by the weekend.
