X-rays rule out fractures and in some cases can indicate that at least some of the ligaments around the ankle are still intact based on the position of the bones.
MRI is needed to actually look at those ligaments and see how much damage occurred and this time off that is needed
#Chargers LT Joe Alt, who was carted off, had X-Rays that were negative, source says. The initial diagnosis was a high-ankle sprain, but he’ll have an MRI to confirm.
Alt seen in a walking boot, indicates it’s likely an ankle sprain of some variety. Will have to see what the severity is over the course of the next week.
Likely anywhere from 0-4 weeks
Dart with an obvious limp, holding his left hamstring. Will see what happens over halftime but being limited with his mobility will hamper the Giants game plan
Alt looks like he was rolled up on, able to get himself off the field.
Ankle injury, possible low vs high ankle sprain, could put him out from anywhere from 0-4 weeks depending on severity
Hard to see for Nabers but the non-contact nature of that while loading for a jump is worrisome for a knee soft tissue injury, in significant pain on the field.
Looks like an elbow injury for Mack, hyperextended in that tackle. Hopefully it’s minor, but if it’s a high grade sprain or tear he could miss some extended time.
@FieldYates@DanielDopp would you trade Davante Adams for Achane rest of season? Still got Chase, Cooper, and Devonta Smith and Achane would provide reinforcements to Gibbs and Aaron Jones
The heart monitor will check for episodes of arrhythmia over a longer period. If he doesn’t have any more it was likely just illness related, nothing to do long term. If it’s recurrent he can start some medications +/- an ablation.
Like he said, not keeping him from the field
Jim Harbaugh back in the building. He said he saw a cardiologist this morning and got confirmation his episode was atrial flutter. Harbaugh is wearing a heart monitor. Said he will wear the monitor for two weeks before being reevaluated. An ablation procedure remains an option.

This can be caused by illness/travel/altitude, generally not an issue as long as it doesn’t cause his heat to run to fast. Sounds like it converted back to a normal rhythm too
Jim Harbaugh said he was dealing with “atrial flutter” when he went back to the locker room early in the game. Said this was his third such “episode” since 1999. Got an EKG and an IV before returning to the sideline.
Our guy @ChargersMedical is BACK because the Chargers are just that injured right now. Jamieson gives his expert opinion on all the latest surrounding Justin Herbert, Joe Alt, Rashawn Slater, & Joey Bosa. #BoltUp https://t.co/l6qZfWLzvV
