Senior NHS managers back @wesstreeting plans to regulate them, including barring those guilty of misconduct from working in the NHS and having an individual duty of candour: https://t.co/ZXOakgSXo8
Doctors concerns about patient safety are being ignored.
A recent study conducted by Oxford University has concluded that there is little evidence demonstrating that physician associates are safe to work in the NHS, or that they improve patient care.
Despite that, NHS bodies and the government continue to push forward with the nationwide rollout of PAs, without first having assessed the impact.
This is no individual PAs fault, and they have been taken advantage of by a failing system. However, we must ensure patients are kept safe, which is why we need national guidelines and safety checks.
Patients must always come first.

Having watched that today, I can only say one thing:
Let’s all get behind @ZelenskyyUa 💯 ✊🏻
People whose countries haven’t recently experienced the trauma of invasion should not bully nor lecture those who have.
Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦
The trust admitted that no action had been taken against any of the surgeons and it only informed the Care Quality Commission about the report and its findings on Friday morning, after The Sunday Times made inquiries. 👀
🚨 NEW: The former leader of Reform UK in Wales has appeared in court after being charged with accepting bribes for making statements that would benefit Russia in the European Parliament
[@BBCNews]
Keir Starmer, "Russia menaces our online spaces"
"Do you want to know what Nigel Farage and Reform are doing on their rare visits to parliament?"
"They're voting against our employment rights bill"
"They talk the language of workers rights online, and on the doorstep, but they voted against banning fire and rehire"
"They voted against scrapping exploitative zero hour contracts"
"They voted against sick leave, maternity pay"
"And they want to charge people to use our NHS"
"They claim to be the party of patriotism but they're fawning over Putin"
"They are not the answer for people in Britain"
Just seen this - unacceptable @MRCPUK that this error occurring in 2023 has (a) happened at all and (b) was only flagged up in 2025.
No wonder our trainees are in so much despair. This is a another kick in the teeth.
I hope the federation fix this shambles ASAP.

BREAKING The former CEO of Countess of Chester Hospital was wrongly forced out of her job in 2022-23, because she raised whistleblowing complaints about bullying behaviour by its chair - who is still in post - an employment tribunal ruled yesterday.
You've all been amazing so far and please please please only give what you can afford.
But if you want to see me looking ridiculous (well more ridiculous than normal) then do your thing ❤️

Right team, y'all went absolutely HAM on this last time and she's raised over £700.
But I'm a competitive dude and wanna hit £1k so here's the deal.
If you can get this over £1,000, I'll wrestle a match on a show in full ballet tutu.
🚨 EXC: Patients have been put at risk after tens of thousands of blood tests have been lost, miscoded or delayed in another major NHS IT failure:

Yo - wrestling friends.
My daughter is raising money for @tommys - which helps fund vital research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth.
If you can spare anything that would be amazing - but please only give what you can afford ❤️

The Liverpool trust has been at "opel 4" - extreme pressure - since last Thursday. It is boarding patients on ward corridors (not just A&E) and put 15 patients in a research unit - elective operations have been put on hold today. A grim, unsafe situation for patients and staff.
🚨 While Govt talks about elective waiting times, remember thousands are experiencing truly awful emergency care right now. Below is from Royal Liverpool Hospital today - it has activated "full capacity" alert - longest wait for a bed in A&E is 91 hours!! 28 patients on corridor
A man keels over in a chaotic emergency room, an 88-year-old woman waits for 24 hours in the back of an ambulance, a depressed and frustrated paramedic can’t face his job anymore
This is the reality of the state of the NHS right now 👇
