I love running. CA in making by God’s grace, no matter how great I become. I always wanna be remembered as Uncle Charly that’s where my happiness comes from
It was during my interview with two ASML managers in early 2022, while I was still a Master’s student in Germany 🇩🇪.
One of them looked at my CV and asked:
“You graduated with your Bachelor’s degree in 2017. Why did it take you until 2020 to start your Master’s?”
I loved that question because it gave me the opportunity to tell them my story and show them what it took for me to get to where I was at that moment.
I told them I graduated in 2017, completed the compulsory one-year national service in Nigeria, and initially hoped to start an academic career. I tried to get retained as a lecturer, but it didn’t work out. I eventually returned to my local town and started teaching Physics and Mathematics.
But I knew I wanted more.
I wanted postgraduate education abroad, particularly somewhere I could get exposure to advanced scientific facilities and technology. The problem was simple: my family couldn’t afford to sponsor an international education for me.
So scholarships became my only realistic route.
I applied to different countries and different programs. I got rejected multiple times. But I kept searching, sending applications, contacting people, and improving my profile.
Eventually, in 2020, Germany came through for me. I got the opportunity to move to Germany 🇩🇪 for my Master’s in Photonics.
By the time I finished telling the story, I could see it in their faces — they really felt for me 😭😭😭
Dem go dey think, “This guy don suffer!” 😭😭😭😂😂
By the end of that interview, I told my girlfriend (now my wife) that “I’m getting this job.” 😂
I even started putting extra effort into my Master’s thesis experiments in the lab because I was already imagining myself joining the company after graduation.
The next email I received was an invitation to another interview with some team members, and that one was very casual.
Then I got the job 🎉🥰
They sent a moving truck to pack my belongings from Germany, booked my flight to the Netherlands 🇳🇱, and lodged me in a five-star hotel for about two months while I settled in.
That question has stayed with me ever since because it reminded me that a gap on your CV isn’t necessarily an empty period. Sometimes, it contains one of the most important parts of your story. 💯

Funny part is that this was a paid partnership.
Like I said the other day, adidas and those brands he works with should be doing this, so people can be reminded.
Leo has kept quiet so much in his career. I’m sure if anybody has achieved what he has, they won’t be this quiet.
We get the personality, but the brands should do it and add him as a collaborator.
She wanted her dad beside her on her wedding day, so she brought the wedding to him. ❤️ In his hospital room, she put on her dress, stood beside the man who raised her, and shared one of the most important moments of her life with him. He passed away just two days later. 🥹💔
Congratulations my boyyyyyyy🙌🎉 @Francis_TheMath

OLUSEGUN FRANCIS JOSEPH🫵❤️.
For real I’m a proud course rep.🥹❤️
Congratulations Felix, you are a proof that there's nothing that is impossible for God to do 🥹
You're truly determined to succeed and survive the trials and tribulations of life with hardwork, faith, hope and consistency, you won, your resilience is second to none despite the struggles of selling sachet water, gala, biscuits, puff and just anything students could buy from you that could fetch you money in school.
Several times during SUG campaign, I suggest people like you that have nobody to run to for financial support should be priority at least even it's a year's fee, it would be a good that can't be forgotten but corruption has eaten deep into even the minds of the youth.
Thnk God you made it through, congratulations 🎉
I know exactly how this story began. We started together, shared the same dreams, but our journeys took different turns, and I got there before him.
For the past three years, Felix has remained determined, stayed the course, and refused to give up on his dreams. Today, that dream is finally becoming a reality. ❤️
Please show him some love, engage with his post, and support his journey. He truly deserves it. 🙏🏽
If you know him, you won’t catch cruise with him .. this boy will fetch water, wash other students clothes , hawk peanuts , sleep in classrooms.. cos he wasn’t able to pay his school fees the first time he got admission and couldn’t meet up with the cgpa..the school withdrawed him .. still he wrote jamb and came back .. kudos to Felix fr
A beautiful wife is good for your eyes. A good mother is good for your children. When choosing a wife, never let beauty outrank character. Your children will live with your choice long after the attraction fades.
