Practical pursuit of idealistic goals. Engineer. Free and informed thinker. More books in my library though on philosophy and psychology. Tennis. Car guy.
@OunkaOnX And Lindsey became rich from all these in-state defense contractors (2 million) while you went from $700k entering congress to 25 million now.
@DrDBeech The same “boundaries” as when going to see an attorney or most service providers. Except they don’t imply it’s beneficial for the client. No boundaries of this type in any service - detrimental. Boundaries like this are kept - common courtesy and respect. That’s all.
@the_mel_jar My parents didn't talk to me either growing up. The therapy relationship recreates the environment of neglect for the patient. I don't see that it's a corrective emotional experience (the relationship itself).
@JonathanShedler Be human first, put psychology principles aside temporarily. I read an article online about a therapist interacting with a dying patient. Partly using therapy principles. So completely wrong.
@stoolpresidente Belgium has declared their neutrality again and has chosen to be passively invaded by immigrants who will destroy their culture and take over the country.
@GrantHBrennerMD Further comment. I believe that the distorted therapy relationship produces unusual reactions both ways which do not represent behavior in the “real” world. Or transferences.
@GrantHBrennerMD I'm a serious, non-aggressive communicator. Been in and out of therapy in my life for anxiety from neglect in childhood. Based on my experience and shared views with certain authors, I believe that transference is over-assumed in the therapeutic rlshp. In both directions.
@GrantHBrennerMD Yes, to your first summary. That could be to your second. However, there are and have been practicing and theoretical mental health professionals who think otherwise. We're talking about extent and degree that it occurs.
