Too many to choose from.
I’m gonna go with The Slim Shady LP. That album brought my attention to Hip-Hop. True, Lyte is my cousin. But I was much younger and needed to connect to something.
The album came right on time.
Yours?
@CharlesHamilton Top 5 alive producers? (Not including Dr. Dre, Alchemist, Madlib, 9th wonder, Kanye, Pharrell, Just Blaze, DJ Premier, Q Tip, & Pete Rock)
I'm a skeptic by nature, often cynical. It's a voice over, very much could have been manipulated. He may have meant it with good faith but I agree with the sentiment that was pushed simply because at the inner core we are our thoughts and we shall account for every word we say.
Music enhances that, reaching our emotions before our conscious minds can even process the message, influencing what we feel, think, and internalize.
Quite literally passes straight through our auditory cortex right into our limbic system.... To me it's all be designed. We can either be conscious of it and use it within our own discretion or become victims to it.
He speaking from feeling, from what I can see.
I also feel like that was an edited video. Not quite Michael's words.
Your options are to have faith in the video or trust my skepticism of it... go!

That would be so dope... I often find myself having that exact dialog. There's a clip going around with Michael Jackson touching on exactly that. Well, I don't know what direction you would be moving into but....
I personally want to have a public forum with Kanye where we talk about how the MUSIC impacts the BEHAVIOR of the artist... shit, the artist, the admin, the people...
I'm glad you kept my name alive (amongst your young one).
It's a damn shame my 16 year old grew up to you and now plays you on her own... I be like "What you know about Charles Hamilton?" 😂😂😩 ...but you're so versatile that I may have missed the influenced orrrrr you're good enough to be inspired and not over indulge or I'm just not hip hop enough... lmao
You gotta pardon my #NewYork bias when it comes to #HipHop. The city literally raised me, IN FRONT OF ITSELF. I can never stop loving NYC.
That said,
"Music is the only love."
I go where there is music.
And where mine can be tolerated.
Be home soon!

Valid, Q-Tip should be acknowledged more. RZA is a #sonic influence, 'sfar as the SOUND of one's production. But Dre mastered that concept. Havoc is another monster.
My Top5 of pr/rps comes from a place of direct influence. Like you can hear my Top 5 (and ALC) in my music.

Man.....lol.....We live in a stan culture. I can't even say alot of us love the culture of Hip-Hop anymore. We love the artists we LOVE and that means we HATE the artists we hate. It's a rule you can't like many rappers who are good at what they do at the same time...
My favorite rapper is Eminem.
Stan I am.
Jay-Z made me a believer. All it took was me listening.
Nas is a throwback ahead.
3 out of my top 5.
Every so often I include myself.
