I have enjoyed sharing pictures from our farm. We are working to #conserve our #soil and our #water. Biodiversity is very important to us. Consumers need to see that.
My parents came to Brazil from the Netherlands after the second world war to do agriculture. I have always loved to produce, to farm. It's in my blood.
We have been using #NoTill on our farm for 31 years. And our soil is permanently covered using #CoverCrops.
I am so proud to be a member of the Global Farmer Network. In October I was in Brussels as part of the 2021 class. We learned to find our voices and speak up for agriculture. We are choosing sustainable practices to be a part of the solution for climate change. @CharlesPeeters
Our nutrient management is balanced with crop yields using precision agriculture tools. The farm produces ~ 15 tonnes of grains/hectare/year and conserves at least 10 tonnes of dry matter over the soil, protecting soil biological activity and biodiversity.
Now our fields have soybeans growing. Our corn was harvested at the end of July and during August. We had yields of about 9 tonnes/hectare. We had 12 inches of rain during October when we were planting these soybeans. This picture shows what we call perfect plantability.
Hello! I am @CharlesPeeters from Brazil. I was part of the 2021 Global Farmer Roundtable in Brussels. This week I'm going to tell you a little about our farm. My sister and I lead our family company. We grow corn, soybeans and cattle in an integrated system in Goiás state.
A plant breeding company to gene-edit strawberries to stay fresh longer and have a longer growing season; expect to launch the first commercially available, gene-edited strawberries within a few years. https://t.co/0fGHyAPioz
