Alright WABBLES, buckle up n' bless your hearts, because the atmosphere is about to act like it just found out it was left out of the family group chat.
Skies will spend this morning looking tranquil enough, but don’t you dare be deceived. Clouds will steadily increase like your in-laws’ opinions did over Thanksgiving. By late this afternoon into the overnight? Here comes the light to moderate rain.
A cold front swings through Sunday morning, and it’s not coming quietly. Expect strong westerly winds of 25–35 mph, which means anything not bolted down...we're talkin' trash cans, trampolines (God's Frisbees), lawn decor and leaves, may just end up visiting Tennessee or Virginia in search of Thanksgiving leftovers. Temperatures will tumble throughout our Sunday, slipping into the lower 30s by sunset. Why? Because Kentucky weather.
Attention then turns to the late Monday night into Tuesday timeframe when Mother Nature flips a coin and somehow it lands on its side. Guidance has us “walking the line” between rain, sleet, and snow, which is exactly on-brand for a state where winter weather behaves like your drunk uncle trying to explain Bitcoin at Christmas.
Yes. We could see rain.
Yes. We could see sleet.
Yes. We could see snow.
Yes. We could see all three in the same hour because WABBLES sits precisely where the universe decided, “Uh, let’s keep it spicy. Like a 8/10 at Thai Thai spicy." <---IYKYK
A potential winter storm is eyeing the region, and while details are still messier than a Bowling Green roundabout, just know we’ve entered the realm of winter weather shenanigans™—patent pending, because Kentucky deserves royalty checks for the level of this bulls--nonsense. Pardon me.
In summary:
Today: Clouds thicken, rain moves in. Maybe a flake or two. Don't panic.
Sunday: Winds yeet your lawn chairs into Tennessee or Virginia; temps fall.
Monday night–Tuesday: Winter weather auditions for America’s Got Talent.
Stay tuned, WABBLES. And maybe keep a coat, an umbrella, and a bottle of bourbon handy—you know, the official Kentucky Winter Weather Kit.
The midnight gathering at Cherry Hall to celebrate the newest class of Spirit Masters is one of my favorite traditions each year. These student ambassadors generously give their time and talents in service to @WKU. Congratulations to our newest Spirit Masters!
