The responses to P!nk are as bad as you probably thought they would be.

P!nk never once downplayed Palestinian suffering. She mentioned very explicitly that Palestinians deserve a peaceful future and they need to be protected.

Yet this pop-influencer, Saint Hoax (how appropriate), with millions of followers, is upset because P!nk wasn't intimidated into forgoing a statement about how Israelis shouldn't be killed either. But saying that out loud sounds a little demented, so accusing P!nk of not "opposing genocide" was the charge instead. Smart.

Saint Hoax also asks P!nk what she and other Jewish families are scared of, implying that she's only scared of people speaking out about "the genocide." The obvious answer to this is that we're not scared of people saying Palestinians deserve better, we're scared of people coming up to us and demanding a purity test.

Do you know what that's like, Saint Hoax? To walk down the street and have someone notice your Star of David and rush over and start attacking you? It happened to me and my family more times than I can count since October 7th. You can see it in their eyes; they think you are scum. They get close enough that you can smell their breath and if you try to just leave because you are so uncomfortable they get angrier. So say what they want to hear, and you can be left alone. There are entire social media accounts dedicated to doing this from LA to London.

That is something that happened a lot at the Columbia encampment that Macklemore praises. Kids just trying to go to class being cornered and accused of horrible things because they don't think skipping algebra will end a war on the other side of the world. Not to mention all the times when "Free Palestine" has been shouted before acts of violence against us, including the shooting of two young Jews in DC.

That's what is scary, the normalization of this aggressive, bullying behavior which targets Jews specifically. Stop acting like we’re making it up, the evidence is everywhere.

As someone who was a gun safety activist for over a decade, I can assure you that laughter and joy are part of even the most somber memorials, trials and gatherings. In fact, the reason we held a dance party at the end of every annual Gun Sense University was to help everyone - survivors and volunteers alike - relieve some of the heaviness of the weekend. If you’d only seen us dancing, we would have seemed callous. But if you’d asked participants, they would tell you that bonding was as important as grieving during those weekends. I don’t believe for a minute that AOC or Mamdani greeting one another with smiles at a 9/11 memorial was inappropriate. In fact, 25 years later it’s ok for there to be laughter amidst the tears. As Dolly Parton said in Steel Magnolias, "Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion.”

I agree with Talarico on 30% of the issues. I still want him to win so that vile smears like Vance's fail. Politics is politics, but you can't just directly imply that Senate candidates are pedophiles. We have to draw a line somewhere. As @sladesr says to the New Right: it matters how you win. That's how I feel about Vance: he'll do anything to win.

There is not a single right or civil protection Palestinians have given gay men or trans women in either Gaza or the West Bank. Not even one. In fact, both are regularly murdered in sectarian violence.

“The Second Intifada Was a Disaster,” Says Hamas. Basem Naim, the same senior Hamas leader who incited against me by name months ago, finally said what the Palestinian national movement, the “pro‑Palestine” space, academics, journalists, and diaspora voices should have admitted for 25 years. It is nauseating that this truth is coming from a fascistic senior terror leader of a cancerous entity that’s one of the worst calamities ever inflicted on the Palestinian people. Yet, the substance is correct: Fatah and the PLO owe the Palestinian people an apology for the catastrophe of the Second Intifada, launched by Yasser Arafat after not agreeing to the 2000 Camp David peace accords.

Many Palestinians and I have long argued that the Second Intifada’s consequences were ruinous. It enabled Hamas’s rise, killed thousands of Palestinians and Israelis, deepened radicalization and mistrust in both societies, and permanently derailed the Two‑State Solution. Arafat’s ego ignited it after Ariel Sharon’s provocative Al‑Aqsa Mosque (Temple Mount) visit triggered mass clashes. The Second Intifada restored full military occupation across the West Bank, produced the “Separation Barrier,” or wall, that carved/seized up Palestinian land, and reversed the gains, institution‑building, and statehood trajectory of the Oslo Accords era.

But the context of Naim’s remarks is grotesque. He called the Intifada a disaster only after Majed Faraj, head of Palestinian General Intelligence, demanded that Hamas apologize for the October 7 massacre, which triggered a war that obliterated Gaza, devastated the Palestinian people, and destroyed any path forward. Faraj said Hamas could join future elections only if it apologized and came clean. Naim refused, insisted October 7 was glorious, and claimed it had “positive strategic outcomes.”

This is a direct message to the pro‑Hamas and “pro‑Palestine” activists who chant about “globalizing the Intifada.” Your own “resistance” icons admit the Intifada was a disaster. They do not celebrate it. They do not embrace it.

Apologize for the Intifada. Stop invoking the Intifada. Condemn the Intifada. Forget the Intifada. And never again promote or fantasize about “globalizing” the Intifada.

And yes, Hamas should apologize to the Palestinians, Israelis, and to humanity for October 7.
