Rep. Haley Stevens

Congresswoman for Michigan's 11th District. Ranking Member, Research and Technology Subcommittee, @sciencedems. @edworkforcedems. @cmteonccpdems.

No family should have to choose between paying their bills and finding a safe place to stay when the power goes out. Days without electricity can mean spoiled groceries, lost medication and expensive hotel stays.

That’s why I’m introducing the Power Outage Family Assistance Act to help Michigan families access FEMA assistance during prolonged outages. Michigan families deserve support when they need it most.

[Rep. Haley Stevens @RepHaleyStevens]

Sam Woll, you are so missed after three years gone. We still think about you. You’ve left an unfillable void, but your legacy of community building and love for others lives on. Thank you for being, as a mutual friend of ours once said, the very best of us. 💙💙

As Co-Chair of the Hostage Task Force, I am deeply grateful that Stephen James Hubbard is returning home to his family after being unjustly held in Russia. We have been fighting for his release for years, and this is good news.

Let me be clear: Vladimir Putin is no “humanitarian.” He invaded Ukraine, killed tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and innocent civilians, and takes American citizens hostage for sport. Just ask Paul Whelan.

On the heels of going against Congress to give Putin major sanctions relief, the Trump Administration is now praising Putin for an obvious tactic meant to manipulate the President and further pull the U.S. away from aiding Ukraine. Cozying up to Putin and giving him everything he wants is an impending disaster the Ukrainian people—and the world—cannot afford.

[CBS News @CBSNews]

U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff praised Russian President Vladimir Putin as "a humanitarian" following the release of U.S. citizen Stephen Hubbard on Wednesday. During a meeting in St. Petersburg, Witkoff thanked Putin for freeing the American — whom the U.S. government had declared wrongfully detained — and lauded the Russian autocrat, who ordered the ongoing full-scale invasion of Ukraine almost five years ago.

Witkoff was in Russia as Trump administration and Russian officials were set to have talks focused on the Ukraine war.

Great to visit Oakland County Michigan Works! Last week, I stopped by their new location in Southfield where staff are hard at work helping Michiganders find meaningful employment. They keep our state moving forward!

[Rep. Haley Stevens @RepHaleyStevens]

I was honored to meet with the Deputy Chief of Mission for the Embassy of South Korea today in Troy, Michigan! South Korea is a tremendous open free market, rules based order, equal opportunity capitalist country like the USA!

They love manufacturing, innovation and new-age tech for good. Grateful that DCM Young-Hee Chun came to Michigan and made time to get together and strengthen the Alliance. 🇰🇷🇺🇸

The images coming out of Paris and other French cities this morning are shocking. Peaceful protest is the hallmark of any democracy, but coopting that for violence is never acceptable.

My heart goes out to the people of France who are reeling in the aftermath of this destruction.

[CNN @CNN]

Police deploy tear gas and protesters stormed municipal buildings as tens of thousands of people take to the streets in fiery demonstrations across France.

We need clearer answers about microplastics and our health.

That’s why I formed a Congressional task force, wrote the Plastics Health Research Act, and corralled researchers and industry to support it. Let’s get this done!!

The rising trend of hate-filled violence, especially at Houses of Worship, must stop. No American should have to fear for their safety when practicing their faith.

I’m proud to represent one of the largest Indian American districts in Congress—they contribute so much to our community and our country. They deserve better.

Deeply grateful to the law enforcement officers for keeping my friend @CongressmanRaja, his family, and his community safe.

[Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi @CongressmanRaja]

My family and I were worshipping at our Hindu temple in Aurora on Sunday when a white supremacist attempted a mass shooting targeting Indian Americans. I'm grateful to those who helped prevent a tragedy, but we must come together to confront the hatred that put so many innocent lives at risk.

A beautiful tribute to a wonderful mom and her incredible daughter @rikkimiller who has been her constant cheerleader, advocate, caretaker, and more. 💗💗💗

[Rep. Haley Stevens @RepHaleyStevens]

Cindy Miller was an incredible human being who I treasured knowing. My thoughts are with Dan, Rikki, Sammi, Tony, Robbie, and their entire family. This family is so loved and we will be there for them as they carry on without Cindy to celebrate milestones and live the life she so loved living.

[Congresswoman Hillary Scholten @RepScholten]

I’m heartbroken by the loss of @cindy_louwho. Her daughter @rikkimiller served as my chief of staff, and through her, the Millers have become like family to me. My heart is with Rikki, @DanMillerFox2, and all their loved ones as they navigate this unimaginable loss. I love you all and am keeping you in my prayers.

India is not funding our detractors (for the most part), but we have China in cahoots with rogue regimes. Let’s stand by our democratic trade partners and do good for the working man, that’s why I went to India with colleagues last week!

P.S. Thanks for having me on, Elex! Great to be in studio with you on your exciting new show!!

[Elex Michaelson @Elex_Michaelson]

"We've got to be standing alongside democratic, free market trade partners like the country of India..."

@RepHaleyStevens is just back from a bipartisan congressional trip to India.

"They want to work with us, which I find exciting!"

A few weeks ago, I visited Israel and met with survivors of October 7th. Three years later their scars—and the world’s—live on.

Today and every day, we remember those we lost and support those who are trying to rebuild in the wake of terrorism. Congress must also continue to stand with our democratic ally Israel, put a stop to antisemitism and violence everywhere, and build a future where Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace and dignity.

[Rep. Haley Stevens @RepHaleyStevens]

Not everyone can drive over to Canada to look for affordable prescription drugs.

We lowered insulin costs for seniors. Now, we need to lower costs for everyone who relies on lifesaving medications.

Health care should be affordable and accessible for every American.

[Rep. Haley Stevens @RepHaleyStevens]

A plane full of innocent people flying to Israel experienced a horrific attack. That is horrifying, and I condemn it unequivocally.

I keep coming back to is what people did next.

Passengers and crew ran toward danger and saved lives. And when they landed in Saudi Arabia, Jewish passengers were met with care, food, coffee, and basic human kindness.

There is a lesson in that. Humanity is all around and shines brightly when we dare to see it. We cannot allow the worst or most extreme among us to define our humanity.

I keep coming back to what people did next.und and shines brightly when we dare to see it. We cannot allow the worst or most extreme among us to define our humanity.

So great to join American business leaders as part of our bipartisan delegation to India to discuss just how important the CHIPS Act I passed into law is for Michigan.

Whether in DC or on the other side of the world, I’m always fighting for Michigan and standing up for our manufacturing workers and businesses.

[AMCHAM India @AmchamIndia]

AMCHAM hosted an interaction with a U.S. House of Representatives Congressional delegation with Chairman Brian Mast of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Representative Haley Stevens, Representative Shri Thanedar, Representative Jimmy Patronis, and Representative James Gallagher, and U.S. semiconductor companies operating in India. The discussion centered on deepening the U.S.-India strategic and economic partnership. While the U.S. is home to the mature semiconductor and AI technology stack, India holds market scale and manufacturing and design capacity, hence the conversation explored how to translate this complementarity into action and two-way investment.

Honored to join a bipartisan Congressional delegation in meeting with Indian Foreign Secretary Misri to discuss the partnership between our two countries, the future of U.S.—India relations, and the importance of Michigan manufacturing on the global stage.

Wixom will always hold a special place in my heart! ❤️

So great to join Mayor Beagle and local leaders last weekend to open up the new West End Commons that I helped secure federal funding for two years ago. The future is bright for downtown Wixom.

Michiganders who work physically demanding jobs shouldn’t have to choose between their health and the retirement benefits they’ve earned.

My Blue Collar Social Security Fairness Act would allow eligible workers to receive their full Social Security benefits at 60.

[Rep. Haley Stevens @RepHaleyStevens]

Michiganders who work with their hands shouldn’t have to work until their bodies give out to retire.

I introduced the Blue Collar Social Security Fairness Act to allow Americans in physically demanding jobs to receive their full Social Security retirement benefits at age 60.

If you put in the work, you deserve the retirement you earned.

[CNBC @CNBC]

New Social Security bill would lower retirement age to 60 for some workers https://t.co/dA0FSS6aNJ
