When something goes wrong on a construction site, a late delivery, a failed quality test, or an activity clash, the traditional reaction is to find someone to blame, or patch the error as quickly as possible, and move on.

But patch-ups are temporary. If you don't fix the underlying system, the exact same mistake will drain your budget again next month.

2. Why? The supplier didn't process the order on time.
3. Why? The final structural drawings were sent to them late.
4. Why? The structural engineer took a week to issue/approve the shop drawings.
5. Why? (The Root Cause): We relied on a linear, email-based approval process instead of holding a collaborative, digital Concurrent Engineering session to approve drawings in real time.

By solving the 5th Why, we don't just fix today's steel delay, we prevent every future drawing-related delay on your development.

Jason Brown had what many athletes spend their entire lives chasing. In 2009, he signed a five-year, $37.5 million contract with the St. Louis Rams, becoming the highest-paid center in the NFL at the time.

But after just a few seasons, Brown made a decision that stunned the sports world.

Do not do these 10 Mistakes When Taking Motor Insurance Cover - PART 1

1) Failure to Window Shop
Referrals from Close friends works best. Any insurance company that pays out claims in time is worth insuring with. Customer experiences works as the best referrals.
Remember this, Low insurance rates can be a red flag. Such companies may not be in a position to settle claims on time.
DO NOT take insurance cover through close relatives & Family Members. The fastest way to argue & part with a relative is insurance claims especially when the company starts frustrating you. Deal with independent Brokers or Agents on a professional level

2) Failure to Fill out a proposal Form
This sounds old school but filling out a proposal form ensures all your details & risk profile is captured correctly. The intended scope of cover is also documented should a claim dispute occur. Ensure that you keep a copy of the proposal form with you after filling & signing it.

3) Making Direct Payments to Intermediaries
Only insurance brokers should handle insurance premiums on behalf of the insurance company. Brokers pay on credit & remit funds within a 60 or 90 day period to the company. Insurance agents are direct representatives of the insurance company & MUST NOT handle any insurance premium. Pay directly to the company through their bank accounts or paybill. Some insurance agents will eat your money & get you a lesser cover than what you requested. Obtain an official receipt for any money paid to a broker or insurance company. These act as proof of payment incase of a dispute in premium payment.

4) Failure to check & verify / Activate Your Motor insurance Certificate

Check on the insurance sticker if you received the right scope of cover. Some rogue brokers or agents will give you a third party only cover when you payed for comprehensive. Check the insurance sticker where the policy number is captured. At the end its captured "TPO" or "COMP"

Certificate Activation & Verification Methods

Method 1: Using Your Mobile Phone (USSD)
* Dial (*352#) on your mobile phone.
* Select the option for Activate/Verify Certificate.
* Follow the prompt and enter your vehicle registration number, chassis number, and the digital certificate number (you will need at least two of these details).
* The system will process the data and display your current insurance status (Active, Invalid, or Expired).

Method 2: Using the AKI Verification App

* Download the AKI VIC Verification app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
* Open the app and select the Verify Certificate menu.
* Point your smartphone camera at the QR code on your digital insurance sticker.
* Enter your vehicle registration number and tap Verify to confirm your policy status

5) Failure to Get the Right scope of Cover
* If you use your car for private,social & domestic use take a Motor private insurance cover.
* If you carry goods for hire & reward for third parties & clients get a Motor commercial general cartage cover
* If you carry your own goods relating to your business kindly get a motor commercial own goods insurance cover.
* Get the right PSV cover for vehicles doing psv
NOTE : The above covers can either be third party or comprehensive.

6) Exluding excess protection cover

Do not omit excess protection on own damage or on theft if you own a thief magnet like the Toyota fielder or Axio.
