Covid had punched me in the throat, Day 4 of fever, I swear I can hear police sirens but how they sounded in late 80’s BBC documentaries, with a touch of waves in the background. I need a sound mixer for the tinnitus in my brain. Happy Saturday?
Seen a lot of YA talk about goals of therapy to push folk to be compliant to the state of oppression they are in. You can’t go protest, if you can’t get out of bed. The wellness industry is a false metric. The goal of therapy is not conversion to the norm.
Long Covid, destroyed my quick inner bitch, brain fog wiped it, a month ago a scathing & true comment left my lips. 4+ yrs later I was thinking I’m nearly back. Kiddo has tested positive. I’ve got razer throat. So fingers & toes crossed this doesn’t kill the inner bitch again.
Sometimes, without a doubt, not being able to listen to music, to get carried away in a song, due to all the tinnitus/sensory-overload, is the shittest thing about the impact of long Covid, fuxking hell post-viral symptoms. I wanna listen to some good house music and paint. X
The best Easter celebration is the Spanish baby jumping festival, where a fella dresses up as the devil and absorbs the original sin of an infant through the soles of his feet
Instructions for POTS exercise Program-Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (based on research in Texas) 👈google for PDF. Have been slowly trying it, only kalistenics no cardio, so far NO PEM, improved mental. #POTS, #longcovid
It gave me a bit more confidence.
🧵 I’m new to disability discourse, but what strikes me hard is its spiritual depth. It's like a meditation on the meaning of suffering, and the wisdom gained through it: about the body, time, isolation, despair, resilience, and what it means to love and support other people. /1

HUGE NEWS!
United Nations & World Health Organisation new report stating that the medical model of mental health needs to be overhauled; and that psychiatric diagnosis, labelling & pathologising people who are traumatised, abused, in poverty, & oppressed impacts human rights.
@guustweet On days I could sit up in bed, I used an iPad with an app called PROCREATE. It’s affordable, under a tenner and i could sit and draw without needing all the bits. X

I’m gonna celebrate my birthday.
Cuz I’m f’ing lucky that I’m still having them.
Couple years back, was pretty sure I was gonna die in the night.
Brain stopped. Body disfunction.
I made it through a decade+ of NHS paediatric ward, & the child is now strong.
I’m still here.
My brain this week…LOVED, listening to the Joyous Body, by Clarissa Pinkola Estés. A definite read for so many of us, imho.
Prometheus’s dilemma & the fears around AI.

Facing old demons, now puny compared 2 others I’ve faced. When one can no longer be emotionally manipulated. When you know the script verbatim. When all you give is love. And spite is just thrown back. No changed behaviour. I felt I’d levelled up. It was a kind of peace.
I tried boundaries. Tried calling out bad behaviour. Attempted to speak with them as a rational caring adult. Got the victimised hysterical child routine. Their parting words, an empty ‘i know I was a bad mother’. I gave a last chance to be a ok grand mother. No interest.
For a bunch of reasons, I went back to the place that first broke me. Bubs & Husbot helped w the journey. Turns out Therapy worked. It was challenging, sad, but you can’t unsee the truth. The only thing that changed in 30 yrs was me. I didn’t comfort the textbook narcissist.
